We believe in a world where all children by the age of 10 are able to read.

Who we are

A global not-for-profit umbrella organisation dedicated to eradicating childhood illiteracy.  We will work with local partners across the world to ensure all children are able to read.

617 million


More than half a billion children and adolescents (< 14 years old) are not achieving minimum proficiency levels in reading and mathematics.

56% unable to read are primary school age

More than half of the 617 million below reading proficiency in the world (357 million) are children below 11 years old.

34% children will not finish primary school

Of all children around the world: Those who were never enroll in a school or those who are in school but will drop out before the end of primary school.

About the Founder

Kausor Amin-Ali qualified as a teacher from the University of Cambridge in 2002.

He has experience in working in numerous schools in England and in the UAE, with nearly fitfteen years in senior school leadership including three Principalships and a Headship.  He is also Chair of Governors at an infant school in England.
